Clinical Supervision
LMSW's on the Road to LCSW
Are you an LMSW looking to start LCSW supervision hours?

Look no further! The Culture of Health PLLC Owner and CEO, Shajuan Alexander, LCSW-S is the supervisor for you! Approved by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council, I can now lead clinical supervision to Licensed Master Social Workers(LMSW) pursing their License Clinical Social Work (LCSW) in the state of Texas.
I would first like to say, Congratulations to you on passing your LMSW exam!
While considering taking the next step in continuing your professional growth, you may be feeling a little overwhelmed. Take time to acknowledge that. Be present, take some deep breaths are allow your mind to reflect on how far you’ve come. You should be so proud of yourself for getting to this point. I know firsthand that not everyone has this experience in their careers, and it may hard to imagine the future you want financially in this field. I’m here to demonstrate to you how Clinical Supervision can change that narrative and reconstruct your reality.
It's time to get excited to learn how supervision can help you sustain a long-term career in the Social Work field. Let’s walk through some of the basic questions can arise:
What type of topics are covered in Clinical Supervision:
• Professional Values and Ethical Standards (NASW Code of Ethics)
• Cultural Competency and Diversity
• In Depth Biopsychosocial Assessments, Diagnosis (DSM v), and Treatment Modalities
• Therapeutic Framework and Modalities
• Case Conceptualization, Vignettes and Scenario Based Vignettes
• Clinical Documentation, Transference vs Countertransference, Boundaries, Ethical Dilemma’s and much more.
Will it take extra work (because maybe you’re already burned out from working full-time, balancing life and taking your LMSW exam?)
Not at all, the most work you will be doing is being committed to holding yourself accountable to attend and complete clinical supervision. Being timely, flexible and an active listener and participant is key here. If there is homework assigned, it is unlikely that it will take you more than an hour to complete.
What is the cost for Clinical Supervision?
The price for Individual/Group Clinical Supervision is $85.00 p/hour

What are the hours?
8:30AM-10:30AM every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.
*Each supervision session is 2 hours and scheduled for twice a month.*
*Individual Make up sessions will be held during the week as needed.*
How many people will be in the supervision group with me throughout this journey:
The Group Size for the Supervision Cohort beginning 3/2024 will have a cap of 5 supervisee's. This allows us the adequate amount of time for everyone to share their ethical dilemmas, proud moments or personal challenges throughout the week.
What do I need to start supervision:
Core Components- COMMITMENT, FLEXIBILITY, WILLINGNESS TO LEARN, GROW, RESPECT AMOGNST YOUR PROFRESSIONAL PEERS, AND A GREAT SELF CARE PLAN.
😊 Access to a laptop or phone & a quiet safe space for you to have two hours to yourself to unpack your work week.
What fields of experience do you have outside of being a Supervisor?
As your supervisor, I offer cost-effective, evidenced based, and individually tailored supervision styles that meet the need of each supervisee’s who are in my group. With my 10 years of social work experience I am proud to have had a diverse social worker career in the following areas: Schools/Community Based, Homeless population, Interdisciplinary teams(Hospitals/SNF's and Primary Care Settings), Foster Care, Children/Teen and Adult roles of various socioeconomic backgrounds. I have held every role in Social Work( Clinical lead, Support specialist, Case manager, advocate, parent aide, care navigator, foster care case manager--you name it!)
Is now the best time to commit to supervision?
There is no greater time than now to commit this process. Not for the finances, for the freedom! We all hope for autonomy, balance and happiness within our careers. I can firmly say that the LCSW licensure in the state of Texas and across the US allows for our hopes to be possible. There are many job opportunities/advancements within the social work realm that you qualify for with two additional years of employment and your clinical licensure once you pass the exam. In addition, even more endless entrepreneurial routes that can be explored. Clinical supervision teaches you to be a well rounded clinician that can approach ethical dilemmas and personal challenges in the most introspective ways. Supervision is one of the greatest components of the social work field!

I want to join Group Supervision!
Let's schedule a one-on-one inviting and relaxed consultation for us to learn more about each other. After all, we have two to four years to look forward to!
